Camp iCare @ Alabama Rural Ministry got off to a great start! The camp began with an opening ceremony and we discussed the importance of values, interests, issues and how to make an impact.

 

Once the opening ceremonies concluded, the campers were divided into groups. In their groups, campers began their interactive discussion and activities which inspire participants to look deep within themselves to determine what they are passionate about.

 

  Our guest speaker, Coach Reita Clanton, United States Olympian, Coach, and Auburn Alumna, shared her story about growing up in Opelika and dreaming about being an Olympic Athlete and Coach. Coach Reita has been a Camp iCare staple as she has appeared at every camp since its inception 7 years ago. She was AUSOME with her inspiring message about dreaming big in order to achieve goals.  Through a day-dreaming exercise, she gave each participant an opportunity to dive into their "Genius Zone" in order to discover the "knowledge and language in their hearts."
